Email update 04/10/24

Dear Esteemed Advisors,

My name is Arjun Patel, Secretary-General of Northwood High School Model United Nations. It has been brought to my attention that many of the emails from our conference account, NHSMUNC@gmail.com have been going to spam or junk folders. If you could please add this email to your contact books and primary inbox that would be greatly appreciated. I have posted our previous logistical emails on our website https://www.northwoodmun.com/conference so please review this and fill out the advisor form and dietary restriction form if necessary.

We look forward to welcoming you to NHSMUNC III on April 27th! If you have any further questions please contact me at arjunp2704@gmail.com or our conference staff at NHSMUNC@gmail.com.

Conference Update 04/02/2024

Dear Esteemed Advisors,

With a little under a month till conference day please read this email in its entirety for important logistical updates.

First off, at NHSMUNC, we believe advisors and feedback are a wonderful aid to delegates and will not charge extra for additional student/adult advisors. However, we do need an accurate headcount so please fill out this form to indicate how many advisors you are bringing by Friday, April 12th.

Additionally, we are pleased to announce that esteemed Chef Chris Tzorin (Featured on Next Level Chef and Guy’s Grocery Games) will be providing lunch at NHSMUNC III. Through his West Coast Hibachi, we will offer fried rice, vegetables, and a choice of protein (shrimp, chicken, NY steak, or tofu), as well as a variety of their custom sauces. We understand that some delegates may have dietary restrictions and are working to accommodate these (allergens in the food include egg, soy sauce, butter, and shellfish). If any of your delegates have dietary restrictions, please fill out this form by Friday, April 12th that would be greatly appreciated. We will also have a variety of snacks and breakfast for advisors. As always, delegates are more than welcome to bring their own food as well.

Schedules can now be found on our website. Each schedule is staggered, but all schools should arrive by 8:30 AM for check in, and closing ceremonies will finish at 4:15 PM. There will be no opening ceremony, and delegates will be led to their rooms from the school entrance by committee chairs, and I will send out an update with room assignments closer to the conference date.

As for position papers, each committee's respective background guide will contain submission forms. To receive feedback on your position paper and be considered for research awards, a PDF copy of your position paper must be submitted by April 14, 2024. The deadline for the U.S. Senate and Middle School GA committee have been extended to April 21st 2024 to accommodate logistical delays.

Papers are highly encouraged, but not mandatory for award consideration in GA/Specialized Committees. Position papers are MANDATORY for award consideration in the Advanced JCC Committees and must be submitted before the first committee session.

For schools with crisis delegates, please have your delegates check their emails for updates from the crisis team. They will be sending out important updates and materials in the coming weeks. If you have not yet, please have your delegates fill out the crisis info form sent out earlier in March.

As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out! We look forward to welcoming you in a few weeks!

Yours in service,

Arjun Patel
